Meet Mr. Jamil Ahmed
Mr. Ahmed is a distinguished member of several renowned organizations, including the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), British Association of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (BAPRAS), and The British Society for Surgery of the Hand. His commitment to continuous professional development led him to complete the prestigious Surgical Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School, further enhancing his expertise.
During his specialist training in plastic surgery in Southwest England & London, Mr. Ahmed played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Hand Surgery service at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital in London. For a decade, he contributed his skills and knowledge to this esteemed institution before relocating to Aberdeen in 2014. His comprehensive training encompasses all subspecialties of plastic and reconstructive surgery, including hand surgery, skin oncology, breast reconstruction utilizing free tissue transfer procedures, and aesthetic surgery.
In recognition of his exceptional qualifications, Mr. Ahmed achieved the FRCS (Plast) examination and was awarded his Fellowship in Plastic Surgery by The Royal College of Surgeons in 2013. Additionally, he holds a European fellowship in Plastic Surgery and has earned a European diploma in Hand Surgery. His inclusion in the prestigious GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery solidifies his expertise. Currently serving as the Clinical Lead at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, he continues to make significant contributions to the field.
Mr. Ahmed's passion for teaching and training is evident in his roles as a GMC recognized Trainer, Member of The Scottish Training Committee (STC), and Speciality Advisory Committee (SAC) in the UK. He actively guides and mentors registrars in the field, shaping their careers and fostering their development. Furthermore, as a Fellow Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, he plays a vital role in enhancing surgical education. He also serves as a course director for two prestigious International Hand Surgery and Flap Courses held in London and Aberdeen.
